A dear friend of mine asked me to design a logo for his event management company which is specialized in art, music and culture gatherings.
The word Daff means tambour (small drum) so I tried to use typography to reflect the instrument's shape in the logo.
I fell in love with this shape and I thought it would be perfect for my friend's brand but asked me to do more experiments using different symbols.
He asked me to incorporate the look of a traditional Syrian man with mustache wearing a fez (traditional Syrian headwear).
In this test I was trying to the visual language of a middle eastern talisman.
Eventually my friend decided that we should go back to shape of the Daff instrument (middle eastern drum).
when I showed him this color variation he was really satisfied with the end results!
I still prefer the brown version if you ask me :D
